A structured 12-week program

Help more students read with confidence

Imvi helps schools support students with reading and concentration challenges through short training sessions designed to strengthen eye coordination, with assessments and progress tracking that make progress visible.

An overlooked cause of reading difficulties

For some students, reading can feel tiring and take a lot of effort – often without them knowing why. It can affect reading speed, concentration, and confidence.

When a student struggles with reading, the problem isn’t always reading itself.

One often-overlooked cause may be difficulties with eye coordination – when the brain has trouble coordinating the eyes. This affects more than 20% of children and young people and can impact reading, concentration, and stamina. As a result, these symptoms can sometimes be mistaken for other causes of reading difficulties.

Symptoms often detected at school

In primary school, students typically undergo two to three basic vision screenings, which may not always be enough to identify vision problems early. Eye coordination is not assessed as part of these screenings.

This means some students may struggle with reading and concentration without the underlying cause being identified.

They may, for example, experience text appearing to move, become tired quickly, or have difficulty staying focused – symptoms that can easily be mistaken for something else.

VR training that improves reading skills

Imvi is designed to help students strengthen eye coordination in a way that’s simple and engaging.

Using VR and video content of their choice, students complete short, regular training sessions while schools can track their training and reading progress.

Support from Imvi

We help the school get started and support the educators throughout the entire arrangement.

How to Get Started

1. Identify

Identify students who may benefit from Imvi.
You identify which students need practice. You can also use Imvi's reading test.

2. Plan

We're holding a digital planning meeting and will help you get started.
We set a start date and discuss the number of students. VR equipment, instructions, and onboarding are provided for the educators responsible for the training.

3. Exercise

The students train 15 minutes, 5 times a week.
With their mobile phone and Imvi's VR glasses, the student watches the content you choose while the training is ongoing. Choose pedagogically adapted content so as not to lose momentum in learning.

4. Follow up

Follow the student's training and development via Imvi's platform.
Reading and consistency tests are conducted before, during, and after the 12-week training program to highlight changes over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the school need any special technical equipment?

The school needs to have access to a mobile phone for each student who is training. Headphones can be used if needed. The mobile phone is used together with Imvis VR glasses and PD meters that we provide. We also include clear instructions for getting started.

Does Imvi replace other support interventions?

No. Imvi is intended as a complement to the school's existing educational support, not as a replacement.

How long does the training program take?

To achieve results, you train Monday-Friday for a 12-week period. If you need to train more, you can do so.

What happens after the program is finished?

We will follow up. You will have the opportunity to monitor the student's progress and use the results as a basis for determining the next steps. We would also be grateful for your feedback at that point.

How much time is required from the teacher?

At startup, you need to plan which students will participate. The first training session and onboarding take approximately 1 hour. The daily program is 15 minutes. Allow for five minutes of startup and shutdown.

If you want to plan what educational content the students will view, factor in this time. All documentation is automatic, and if you use Imvi's tests in the app, you don't need to grade them. We will provide you with the results in a presentation. Just download it according to your school's routines.

Which students is Imvi suitable for?

Imvi is suitable for all students, both strong and weak readers. According to research, approximately 30% of strong readers have impaired binocular vision but have developed tools to cope. 80% of weak readers have impaired binocular vision and need Imvi's training.

If the student has undergone patching treatment or uses prism glasses, an optician must be consulted first, and if the student only has vision in one eye, the training is not suitable.

How does it work with legal guardians?

We provide information about the training that you can share with guardians. The easiest way for guardians to follow the results is through close contact with the school. If there is any other need, please contact us.

How do we follow the students' development?

The tests that students take before, during, and after training allow for tracking the student's results. The tests generate an easily accessible result that can serve as a basis for further decisions. Your and the student's own observations are also valuable to consider.
