SusHi Tech is one of Asia’s largest start-up events, aiming to foster innovation and gather people from all over the world. The conference strives to create connections between start-ups, investors, companies and students, in order to create sustainable solutions for global urban issues.
Imvi was part of the Swedish Pavillion at SusHi Tech, arranged by Malmö Stad and Region Skåne. During the event we had the opportunity to present our training to State Secretary Sara Modig, Shibuya Ward Board of Education, Tokyo Metropolitan Area and many others from a multitude of different countries.
Our CEO Peter Carlsson was also invited to pitch on three different stages. Furthermore, Shanghai Media Group’s Dragon TV interviewed Imvi as one of the interesting highlights of the fair.
The awareness of Vision Training was very high and we met many people who had done pencil push-ups. For those unaware, pencil pushups is an exercise that improves eye coordination, much like Imvi’s training. However, one of the main differences is the low rate of compliance with the manual training, compared to the more entertaining training that Imvi provides.
Several factors contribute to the focus on vision training in Japan:
- Increased Screen Time: The proliferation of digital devices, both for education and leisure, has led to prolonged near work. This negatively affects vision and eye coordination, among other things.
- Educational Demands: Japan’s rigorous academic environment necessitates extensive reading and close-up work, further straining students’ visual systems.
Preventive measures, such as early intervention through vision training is essential to mitigate problems.
